Trivia

Geoff and Erica's couple's costume is Marty McFly and Lorraine Baines McFly from Back to the Future (1985). Lea Thompson, who played Lorraine in that film and its sequels, directed this episode. See more »

Goofs

When Murray is giving Adam relationship advice, Murray says, "It keeps your mom and I chugging along."

Although very commonly heard in modern American English, this form of hypercorrection (mistakenly using "I" when one should use "me" because one believes it sounds correct even though it's incorrect) was almost nonexistent in the 1980s, especially among working-class people like Murray who grew up in Philadelphia in the 1950s and '60s. Hypercorrection using "I" instead of "me" only became common in the US in the 2000s, and the show's writers probably didn't even realize their mistake. See more »
