A tragic look at a food addict

This movie was very sad to watch. One could feel the pain of Ricky and his wife. Even with so many health professionals willing to provide surgery he couldn't lose 100 lbs to qualify for a surgery. This is incredibly sad. Some people say he didn't try. I don't see it this way. This man had a food addiction problem. He obviously wanted to lose weight. his tears over not being able to leave the house were genuine. He just didn't have the strength to overcome it. I feel very bad for him. He definitely needed a psychological treatment similar to what drug addicts get in order to succeed. His wife one could say was in control of his food since he couldn't even shop for food or prepare it but I also can see how she could not force him to eat healthier since he is an adult.

The title itself already tells us how the movie ends. So watching it knowing that he will not succeed was a bit painful. May Ricky rest in peace I wish it had a different ending and he would have found some true happiness of living a life in a healthy way.
