The film was produced by Jerry Mayer, the younger brother of Louis B. Mayer, and was listed as being prepared for release in the July 6th,1925 edition of the Los Angeles Times, but no film by this title was released in 1925. Some of JG Mayer's films were sold to Lumas Film Corporation for distribution.
June Norton was chosen for the leading feminine role due to her adaptability to costume roles.
Most of the outdoor film scenes were shot in Nevada; whereby 100 carpenters and technicians from J. G. Meyer productions were sent there to build the Nevada exterior set to match what Sacramento what have looked like in 1830.
