Yawn. Definitely not 10/10

The cast, acting, script, etc are all top form The story is believable But, it's a miserable and boring film that fails to deliver greatness.

I'd expect this to air on BBC2 around midnight, midweek. It's a typical slice-of-life view that offers nothing new.

The previous comment that mentioned "Jellyfish" was bang on. That's a much better film.

If you want to see poor people then wait until the sun sets in any coastal town and you'll see this film in real life.

Very disappointing

Usually i love these types of film but i found this underwhelming. I was hoping that it would be similar to the great Jellyfish. Please ignore all those reviews with high marks they led me here,do not make the same mistake. This is full of unlikeable characters who i could not care a toss about except maybe the eldest daughter played by Emilia Jones

Bland Flatline Losers

A six point one evarage is ridiculous for this droning mundane pile of refuse. A movie should have at least one character worth liking or pulling for, and this film is void of that with the possible exception of the daughter. It blows me away how anyone could rave about this meandering mess of pretentious slop. Cliches and over the top portrayals rule the day here, and it gets tedious very fast. Samantha Morton in this role is far less than credible. I just didn't buy it at all. Son was just a little criminal nothing more. Poor lighting and editing doesn't help at all. An annoying tinkling piano soundtrack also drags it down. There's several movies on this theme that are superior to this nonsense full of noncompelling dramatic themes and duller than dirt people. It's one extended yawn nothing more. There's been a few mentions of Jellyfish, and it's a valid comparison. Watch that. It's a lovely, bleak portrait in the same vein and definitely enjoyable. The drama is real. We get to know these people, if not necessarily like them. This Two For Joy thing is a stinking waste of film.

A remarkably original debut film. It's unlike anything i've ever seen before.

Definitely worth a watch ...

A moving and persuasive story of a family facing tragedy & calamity. Visually distinctive. Restrained but powerful acting, including by young actors as well as name-catching character-acting stars (in UK at least). Although a mostly unrelenting grey-setting, rain-miserable British "social realist" film (as the critics have it) it is refreshing in its lack of cliche, and ultimate hints of family change. A film to talk over, that leaves you thoughtful, without beating you over the head, and with a head full of striking visual images.

Very Shane meadows-esque

Loved it. Raw, real & emotional. I cried. It's sad, it's not a bundle of joy but it's real. The acting is fantastic. All the characters are great in their roles. I can't choose a lead. Give it a watch.

I absolutely love this film

I'm a big fan of films focussing on social issues, and really enjoyed this. There's nothing to laugh at... it's pretty bleak in all honesty. It reminded me of caravaning holidays as a kid in the 70s and 80s.

The cast is great, but it's the kids that steal the show, Troy in particular is brilliant.

It's not for everyone, but give it a chance.

A brilliant performance from Samantha Morton in this early Shane Meadows-esque masterpiece.
