A love-letter to Kubrick and Mel Brooks

This is a wonderful film, beautifully shot, acted and directed. The cast are incredibly engaging. I hope it will put the director David O' Reilly on the map. He is definitely one to watch.

romance on set

Seductive sounds the fair definition for this short film using the events on Barry Lyndon set as frame for a touching, crazy, seductive, ironic love story between an extra and an assistand director.

Good pretext for a wise crafted hommage to Stanley Kubrick, remind of Irish crisis and the tensions in North Ireland.

A nice film for explanation of obscure details, to.

And, sure, for acting, including the nice work of Michael. Thomas Nolan as kubrick.

A nice contribution - the comentary of Brian Cox , as good flavor of old stories in late hours.

The humor is not exactly a minor detail, like the atmosphere. And the clues about kubrick universe are the real precious gift.

A treat for Stanley Kubrick fans

David O'Reilly has produced a treat for Stanley Kubrick fans. From the opening font which is based on that used in 'Paths of Glory' through subtle and not so subtle references to early works including 'Fear and Desire' and 'Killers Kiss' right through the Kubrick catalogue to 'Full Metal Jacket' and 'Eyes Wide Shut' the movie is fantastic. 'Kubrick by Candlelight' is a homage and includes numerous visual items, clever dialogue, an amusing narration, sound effects and Kubrick techniques; plus the story and acting are wonderful in their own right. The entire film is a joy to watch, on so many levels, from the opening credits to the end credits and requires repeat viewing.
