I am sure, the word "lovely" sounds real strange in this case. but, after its end- the impression to be one of the most inspired films about WW I was the first who dominated me. sure, as parable. but, in same measure, as inspired picture of states, fears, solution to crisis, death and the simple thing who could be the best refuge, source of courage in the hell named war. hares. and a harmonica. and it is enough.

...to realize the point. Once I did, it was effective.
I think the main issue with the delay was that my eye didn't go to the differences in the uniforms. But then I realized he had killed someone just like him, fears and all.

Rabbits of War

The sharp contrast bewteen the innocence evoked by rabbit characters and the somber anti-war plot is pretty effective in my opinion.
Watership Down was my first thought while watching this, but it also made think in that Japanese CGI short from the year 2010 Cat Sith One (That is not its actual title, but Imdb doesn't allow profanities in the reviews, disregard if they are part of the title of a movie) as it also had bunny soldiers as the main characters.
While I liked both animations, I must say that Polius, despite being much shorter, managed to be more emotional mostly due its tragic resolution. That being said, both shorts would work pretty well as feature length films, specially considering that there aren't very much war animated movies.
