Things are finally closing up. Bosch knows who did it but hasn't got evidence yet. Irving is being betrayed because the powers that be want an announcement that helps them, whether or not they have the correct guy. But there has been inside information and some deals made by a woman inside the department. Her confession gets the ball rolling, but a video that will do the job is yet to be found. Bosch gets a chance to use his tunnel-rat experience to try to find the method for doing the murder. We are heading for a big climax. Harry also is approached by a sort of Chinese CIA guy who wants to threaten him. Fortunately, Bosch is not easy to threaten when his own are at stake.

Fairly compelling episode

Bosch follows up information acquired during a key interview and reacts appropriately to a threat.
This one keeps several plot lines interesting and makes you want to find out what happens next.
One revelation involving the main investigation near the end the episode feels a bit silly, (you'd think all areas and doorways close to a murder scene would be immediately checked over with a fine tooth-comb) but it is cinematic.
I like the politics involving the powers-that-be in L. A. and the pressure this puts on various characters. This aspect of the plot is getting very good and works to lift the story above that of a standard police procedural drama.
I am invested in the fate of Bosch's family, so the fallout from the Chinese investigation and Madeline's wellbeing are used well by the writers to keep a good variety in the plot.
All performances are solid. I particularly like the exchanges between Titus Welliver and Lance Reddick.
It's a 7.5/10 for me but I round upwards.
