Well, who isn't familiar with scream queens? But if you aren't, then you should take the time to sit down and watch this 2014 documentary titled "Scream Queens: Horror Heroines Exposed" as it gives a good insight into the term and what it means. Plus it also have some good interviews with some of the more prominent of the scream queens themselves.

"Scream Queens: Horror Heroines Exposed" is the type of documentary that you watch once and never again, simply because there isn't enough contents to be found herein to support more than a single viewing.

It should be said that the documentary does get far around from the earliest days up to 2014, so there is a good and broad amount of information to be delved into here. And the interviews with the various women are good and rather insightful, with reasons why they got into the business, what makes them a scream queen (or not), and their general views on the business.

Worth a watch, regardless of you being familiar with scream queens or not.

I am rating this a five out of ten stars.

Scream Queens: Horror Heroines Exposed (2014)

*** (out of 4)

Michelle Bauer, Danielle Harris, Adrienne King, Lynn Lowry, Sybil Danning, Linnea Quigley, Catriona MacColl, Cassandra Patterson, Caroline Munroe, Brinke Stevens, Patricia Tallman and Lisa Wilcox are just some of the ladies interviewed for this documentary, which talks everything dealing with being a Scream Queen.

There have been several documentaries that cover what a Scream Queen is. Going back to the early 90s there were documentaries on the subject and there have been many more over the past ten years. That's a great thing because future generations will have documents with these ladies talking about their work and the films. This one here from Calum Waddell features many familiar faces as well as some new people who are discussing a wide range of topics.

The actresses share their thoughts on many topics including how they got into the business, what they think of their fans, their thoughts on the violence in movies, the nudity that is often required, their legacy and some of the controversial moments where some feel the women are being exploited. These are several other topics are discussed and if you're a fan of the actresses or the films then you should enjoy all of it. There are some very good discussions with the actresses talking about their fears on the nudity or why they are brave about it and have no problems doing it.

If you've seen any of the previous documentaries then you're obviously going to be hearing some of the same stories but as a fan of the genre I must admit that they are always entertaining and it's great getting to see so many familiar faces in one movie.
