VIRUS
heliparts4 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Skate Boarding is a virus, they should not be at the beach, but at a park far away. They have even overlapped into skateboarding in public places smashing into people and becoming a complete nuisance. Ban skate boarding in public places & enforce if. Unfortunately I cant give this a minus 10, but have to settle for a 1.

Made In Venice is an amazing activism film
dan-9895914 October 2016
Made In Venice the movie is an unadulterated look into what seemed like an almost impossible journey of getting a skateboard park built on the beach in Venice, CA. The film showcases the unwavering determining spirit of a colorful unorthodox community of skateboarders, artists, musicians, and community leaders and path to success through decades of city roadblocks. This documentary is more than a story about concrete on the beach it is a story of hope and an example of united we stand divided we fall in its most pure way. This is a must see doc for anyone looking for inspiration to build a skate-park in your city or town, it will give you the confidence to say yes WE can.

Uplifting story about Digtown skaters from Venice Beach California
joanewenzel29 October 2016
Made in Venice is more than a skateboard movie. Its is about a community that pulls together and " fights" for ten years to have this fabulous skate park built on the sand in Venice Beach California where skateboarding started.

Jesse Martinez as well as other pro skaters and surfers take us on a tour of Venice Beach from its founding in the 20s to the arrival Z boys and Dogtown skaters.

There is vintage footage as well as some fabulous skating. . This is truly a story for those who feel social change. can happen if you don't give up,

The movie is uplifting and fun! I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to spend an upbeat evening and leave the theater with a smile!!!

Well worth seeing!

Film was really well done and thoroughly enjoyable! Neither one of us is a skateboarder, but we're both into community activism. The film was about so much more than the sport. It was a real testament to what people can accomplish if they put their minds to it. Also heartwarming to see how people some would consider "the fringe" can interact and work with the establishment. Most inspiring!

More Than A Skateboard Movie
docnick-115878 December 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Madde In Venice is, in addition, to being a skateboard movie, is a movie with a heart. Packed with marvelous skating sequences, it is an entertaining story of community activism and how government bureaucracy can be overcome by a dedicated group of citizens intent on achieving their goal. Venice Beach, the birthplace of skateboarding remained without a skateboarding venue for decades. Other cities had parks built, but Venice Beach was without one. The skateboarders banded together and fought " City Hall " and now Venice Beach has a magnificent site for everyone to enjoy. This movie portrays the history of this city and skateboarding. Great photography. NOT TO BE MISSED !

Really cool story. Not just for skateboarders. Would highly recommend.

Saw the movie in Lake Worth, FL. Really cool story. Not just for skateboarders. Shows how a community can really make a difference. Would highly recommend. Enjoyed learning about the history of skateboarding and all the interesting people that made it the sport it is today. The filming was amazing with lots of great skateboarding moves. It also tells a wonderful story and shows how deeply the people care about the sport. Also enjoyed learning about Venice, CA and the people who live there. We took the whole family and the kids enjoyed it as much as the adults. A friend of mine who has been skateboarding for decades also loved it and really enjoyed the interviews with the legends in the sport.

Must See Skateboarding Documentary
terri-819-19514514 October 2016
Not only is Made In Venice a cult classic in the formation, it is essential viewing for all skateboarders and skate park activists. Made In Venice is an inspirational no-holds-barred look into what a community of can accomplish when they let nothing or no one stand in their way. The documentary features never before seen clips and photos that will inspire kids pursuing the goal of having a skate park in their town. Bursting with skate history, struggle and victory, Made In Venice traces the pioneering days of skateboarding in L.A. to the birth of modern day street skating with highlights from the now destroyed Venice Pavilion and brings you to current day where you will find skateboarding legend, Jesse Martinez, acting as a voluntary caretaker of one of the most ridden and documented skate parks in the world. –  Juice Magazine
