Crashing the Party
Samuel-Shovel4 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
As we cross over to the back end of season 3, Colombia continues to heat up. A drug lab explosion in New York causes attention to be brought to Chepe. Jorge continues to communicate with the DEA. The North Valley cartel attempts to kill both Miguel and Pacho. And Franklin Jurado is arrested by Pena in Curacao.

This episode was action-packed and beautifully shot (as always). The scene with Chepe in the diner was gritty and terrifying to the Nth degree. Pepe Rapazote is one of the best actors involved in this season and I hope to see more of him moving forward.

The two shoot scenes and the seamless intermixing of both was another highlight of the episode. Narcos has always done a good job of doing realistic action but they've really taken it to a whole new level this season.

Hats off to the cast and crew for this one, another great episode.

Thrilling episode

This episode has been the most action-packed one of the season so far. The chase scene, the bar scene, the party... all thrilling moments. One of the best of the season so far.

Breathtaking action sequences and twisted plot
TheBigSick2 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
There are three breathtaking action scenes in this episode. The first is the chase of Agent Pena after Jurado. The second is the attack of North Valley on Pacho. The third is the escape of Miguel from North Valley.

The plot is twisted. When you think DEA has got Jurado, Cali Cartel holds his wife as a hostage. When you think North Valley may kill Pacho, Pacho succeeds in counterattack. When you think Agent Feistl could attack Miguel, North Valley do instead.

Why it is not so good
AleksandrBelenko5 December 2020
The series is amazing as always, but... There is always a "but". The women making stupid decisions, as well as special agents. You know, those who should think through countless steps ahead. Only 2 characters that actually think.

Best Laid Plans
bobcobb30131 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
There is nothing quite like the Chepe character and the way he pulls guns out of nowhere to kill people. Now that he is back in Colombia I hope that we get more of that. I am worried about the direction of the show though. I hope that they do not make it all about Jorge though as the other characters deserve a chance at the spotlight.

Nicely plotted episode
silverton-3795917 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode shows how the best laid plans of mice and men go awry. In the Cali cartel, the best laid plans are crafted by weak minded egotists whose pride drives their actions. In the DEA, the plans are crafted by bureaucrats whose main concern is how they look to their bosses, who are dimwits.

Chepe has been tracked by a journalist who has been able to learn far too much about Chepe's operation. Chepe sees him on TV revealing his plans despite the fact that he knows Chepe has seen him snooping. His plans are going nowhere. Still, Chepe isn't half as smart as he thinks he is.

Chepe's own faulty planning allowed the journalist to learn too much, and killing the journalist isn't going to save Chepe's organization. Chepe, like the Dominican gang he killed off is using ether to process coke in a building in the city. That is about as stupid as you can get, and an explosion in a lab staffed with teenaged idiots is the result. Chepe's operation in NYC is doomed by that kind of stupidity.

Miguel is a weak minded fool whose brother has brought him along up until now. David, Miguel's dimbulb son, is stupidly dragging Miguel to a public party when the authorities are looking for all of the Cali godfathers. Miguel stupidly goes along with David's plan

Only Jorge seems to be at least trying to form his own plan for survival, but he is hampered by the stupidity of the DEA bureaucrats he is forced to try to use. Jorge's is the best laid plan of all the players in this drama, but the idiocy of everyone around him is threatening to doom him and his family.
