- Lagertha is betrayed, and Bjorn must find a way to support the distraught queen; Floki and his settlers arrive in a new land, but it is far from what they expected.
- Bjorn, Halfdan and Sinric fight and use the sand storm to escape from emir Ziyadat. Ivar and Hvitserk arrive at King Harald's kingdom to join forces against Lagherta. Ivar offers to spare Bishop Heahmund's life provided he teams-up and fights with him against Lagherta. Floki's plan is found but Lagherta decides to let him go with his followers to the Land of Gods. Astrid hires an abusive fisherman to send a message to Lagherta informing when Kattegat will be attacked. Meanwhile Bjorn is returning to his homeland with Halfdan and Sinric, just before his brothers' battle for their home.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- Ivar reassures jealous Hvitserk, his offer to let Harald eventually succeed his cripple self on the Kattegat throne, is only a ploy to forge an alliance to overturn Ubbe and Lagertha. Astrid offers whaler captain Hakon gold to secretly pass a traitorous warning to her queen lover, implicitly accepts to add sexual favors but is forced to extend those to his whole crew for their silence. Floki's band of 'deserters' is found out at the dockyard before they sail off, but Lagertha decides against forcing them to stay against their will and the 'land of the Gods' proves a bitter disappointment tot the would be-farmers colony. While the Saxons are in a depressed mood, except one prince who vows to reclaim Ecberts 'bretwalda' kingdom of all England, Ivar makes the chained warrior bishop Heahmund, who seems as fearless as Ivar, choose between senseless execution and joining his own war 'slaying heathens' as if a mercenary.—KGF Vissers
