Lacking content and running too long

This is an interesting film on the face of it. Based on a true story, a woman is dumped by her partner in a fast-food restaurant, and in her grief she just stays there. This concept is certainly unique enough to be worth a look, and the presentation of the story is really well done. It looks good throughout, has a genuine feel to the design of the place, and the lead performance from Burdge is really natural and convincing. The problem is that I found little below this to support the 20 minutes it asks of the viewer.

I get that I am in the minority on this opinion because the film was picked by Vimeo, Short of the Week, and generally well shared online to gets tens of thousands of views – which is impressive for a film of this running time, but particularly for one which is comparatively low-key and slow paced in terms of what it does. Maybe others don't feel this, but I was left cold and a bit bored by the film. It seemed to be deliberately static, and the interactions within the film didn't add value so much as fill time. There are some points in there about modern relationships, and social media, but not enough to fill such a long running time out into something more effective.

I wish I could see what many others have with this film, but for me it didn't have enough content or heart to draw me into it, and the long running time just exacerbated that feeling.

A sort of romanticism. Fresh, seductive, cold, too long or short. The convincing performance, nice irony about loneliness and media and refuge. Touching. And interesting more for the really story who inspired it. A woman in a fast food joint. Long days. Different persons and the dialogue with the policeman as the best part of film. A special short film. And its bitter atmosphere.
