The movie as we know has largely been shot in Goa, however, the last two days of the shooting schedule were fixed for Singapore. Unfortunately, rain played a spoilsport on the first day because of which the crew had lost more than half of their day. To compensate for the lost time, the crew shot for 24 hours the last day for they had their flights to catch on the next day.
Ali Zafar (who also a musician and singer) sang with his own voice for 2 of songs in the film - "Taarefon Se" and "Tu Hi Hai", while on the original soundtrack, the tracks are sang by playback singer Arijit Singh.
The part where SRK and Alia was cycling and Alia fell off the cycle is actually inspired from a real life incident that occurred on the set of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai where Kajol on a similar occasion lost control of her cycle.
SRK and Akshay Kumar are the only 2 senior actors that have act with both Bhatt sisters (Pooja and Alia). Pooja Bhatt appeared with SRK in "Chaahat" in 1996 and with Akshay Kumar in "Angaraay" in 1998 while Alia appeared as a young girl in "Shangrash" with Akshay in 1999.
While Kaira (Alia Bhatt) is eating street-food after breaking up with Sid (Angad Bedi), a poster of Ki & Ka can be seen on the theatre in the background. Ki & Ka has been directed by R Balki, husband of Gauri Shinde, director of Dear Zindagi.
SRK actually has a very long association with Bhatt family. With the complete of this film, all the direct Bhatt family members have worked with SRK. Mahesh (Director) & Pooja Bhatt first work with SRK in "Chaahat" in 1996, "Gudgudee" in 1997 which Mahesh served as a producer and then, Mahesh directed SRK again in "Duplicate" in 1998.
R.Balki (husband of Gauri Shinde) have many times mention that he wants to work with SRK. He even considered SRK for "Shamitabh" last year. With this film, they have finally somehow "worked" together, as R.Balki serves as the producer.
