Trivia

The opening scene cost 3.4 million dollars to produce. In total 150 cars participated, worth 26 million dollars.
The show was granted a £160million budget for the 36 episodes ordered, equating to £4.5million an episode; more than 4 times that which was given when the trio presented Top Gear on BBC.
The 'celebrity braincrash' segment is meant for the celebrity guests to do a timed lap on the circuit and compete against other celebrities. However, Top Gear have claimed that if The Grand Tour has too many similarities including their 'star in the reasonably priced car' segment then the BBC will sue The Grand Tour for copyright. This resulted in the celebrity guests having comic 'deaths'.
After Jeremy Clarkson failed to have his contract renewed by the BBC after a physical altercation with a fellow employee, long time friends and co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May decided it was in their best interests to leave Top Gear (2002) as well. Amazon quickly set out to acquire the popular trio and made a deal with its streaming service. The show premiered in fall of 2016, accessed exclusively on Amazon Prime.
One of the most expensive budgets ever for a tv show with a reported price tag of £160million.
The show is all shot in 4k picture format.
When presenting Top Gear, James May always uttered the phrase, "Oh, cock!" whenever something went wrong. Since leaving Top Gear James May has refrained from using this phrase on The Grand Tour as Top Gear have claimed they own the catchphrase due to copyright. Much to the annoyance of James May as this is a regular phrase he would use on an everyday basis.
Each 'Conversation Street' segment shows Jeremy, Richard & James' silhouettes holding a different prop or performing a ridiculous gesture.

In the silhouette for 'Conversation Street' Clarkson appears to be wearing women's Stiletto heeled shoes.
In every episode, when the guys arrived to the airport the person waiting for them, could be a guy or a girl, has a sing with their names. Every time, at least one of the name, is either misspell or has been changed.
