I for one love when the boys fall under the radar of the authorities
WhoTendsTheFire27 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Some of my favorite Supernatural episodes were those where the FBI were involved and I like that it brought back something similar to that, at least in the beginning. Also, I don't understand why some people are so hung up on the fact that POTUS doesn't remember anything that happened while he was possessed. They used a completely new device and a powerful spell, not to mention that Lucifer is more powerful than the average angel or demon, so there's no reason why it wiping his memory should require much suspension of disbelief.

The resolution to the cliffhanger didn't disappoint
curtiskeren11 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Building on the success of the previous episode, this episode continues to deliver. We get to see some classic BAMF Winchester action as the boys (SPOILER - but come on it was going to happen) escape. As the title of the episode suggests, we get to see the lads escaping through the forest Rambo-style as they take out their pursuers. Some brilliant one liners and great action scenes follow. The episode also sees more from the infamous Mr Ketch, and while I am not yet as fond of the other BMOL character Mick, his narrative monologue and the 'let me paint you a picture of a world without monsters' speech was a very nicely delivered plot device. Plus there was the surprise extra twist at the end. I would say that's bound to have repercussions, but hey no one kicked up much fuss when Dean killed Death, so let's just wait and see. This Season is hotting up.

My favourite episode
dorosony25 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I don't exactly know why, but it is my favourite epsiode. I guess it's the way it is made an focusses more on their logic and strategic thinking instead of just killing monsters. Anyway... The only thing I feel is irrational that there's no real evidence Dean prays to Cas everyday to keep in touch (like he used to do in Purgatory) and normally Cas "can pick up on a longing" to find someone and they could use that to find each other. But maybe there are hidden wardings in the military prison somewhere. Who knows... :D

Underrated
sonofdisaster1822 May 2022
I gotta say this episode is pretty underrated and at least deserves to be in the 8.7-8.8 rating talk. The scenes of the boys dealing with solitary confinement, escaping confinement and taking the men out in the woods and the whole end Billy/Castiel scene were all very good scenes. It deserves to be talked about more as a solid episode hardly ever brought up by fans. One of the reasons I love Supernatural so much because it has a lot of brilliant classic episodes and a lot of very solid episodes(like this one) scattered throughout the whole series. I rank my Supernatural episodes different than most things. If it's a mediocre episode I'll give it a 8 or 9. If it's one I loved like a majority of Supernatural episodes I'll give it a 10. And classic episodes such as "Swan Song" or "Changing Channels" I give 11's haha.

The brothers are back with a bang!
vaibhsvc30 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
So far one of the best episodes of the season. We all knew they would manage to get out somehow but the way they did with the cool army tricks was superb to watch. The use of things they got in a small hut was great to watch. This episode again shows the feeling of mercy in the boys when they let the soldiers live (though in the end that didn't happen)

The pact with Billie was the best part of the episode and the way it ended. It almost gets u thinking that you will not be seeing Marry again in the show but at last you get a sigh of relief when Castiel appears from nowhere and kills the reaper. As it seems the British men of letters are trying to patch up with American hunters and are up with bigger plans. Moreover as the pact of Winchesters wasn't successful, This may lead to another catastrophe which may be the further storyline of the season. Well we'll have to wait for that. Overall "Awesome" as "The Dean Winchester" says. An episode which gets the season going.

We're not trapped out here with you..
becca-dietz14 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Sometimes it's nice to be reminded that the brothers can handle regular law enforcement - or in this case black ops. No, this episode doesn't have a supernatural aspect to it but that's honestly why it's refreshing. We see them conquer werewolves and vampires every season... but seeing them outsmart government elite soldiers really reminds you how badass they are. "We're the guys who save the world." ;)

Round of applause for the boys!
rimailbox22 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The previous episode excited me, and I placed more expectations with this episode. I like this! This episode no less cool either. From the start I wondered what the boys did to get out or escape from that prison, it wasn't an easy thing when you against security of the government.

I kinda hate when Cas and Mary started entering self-blame mode, it's like seeing myownself, espsecially Cas, I know they are warm-hearted people, but continuing to blame ourselves will not be able to immediately solve the problem. In this episode I thought Cas and Mary have the same behaviour in my eyes, that is I feel difficult to read what's inside their heads for sometimes, especially Cas. I like him, always, but sometimes I want to punch him too. Is this what Dean's felt? Perhaps.

I like Dean here, he has no fear, confident and brave expression! I like Sam's eeww when he get his meat chopchop, it made me want give him Kale. Sam and Dean picked crazy choice but awesome in execution. Their actions in that wood house so imprest me! I thought there will be a monster's appearance cz Dean said they trapped with them, but I was wrong. Dean and Sam made plans neatly and do everything smoothly. Guys, they often deal with the things that are more difficult than pro soldiers. Our boys! Our lovely hunters! Even the world hurt them, they still try to be nice whatever their condition. Glad to know Sam told them the truth!

During the time I watched this episode, I was very impressed, but the ending of this episode made me double shocked by BMOL, the ending that was very surprising as closing for great episode.

Sam and Dean
blackmagpie-623682 June 2018
The only thing that saves this episode are the Winchester brothers. They rely on their own wit and ingenuity to get themselves out of some serious hot water. Mary and castiel as well as the BMOL are redundant once again proving once again that the show would have fared better without Mary or Castiel. Be prepared there are no monsters in this one although there is of course the supernatural element which fits into the story line really well. Overall, good solid story.

Terrible script and one actor that was cast wrong
tjcindc22 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I have not ever submitted a review prior to this but after watching every episode of SUPERNATURAL a number of times, I could not go on without saying something about season 12 episode 9.

Norman Browning who was in his very late 70's when they shot this episode is far to old for his role as a military officer. In addition to Norman's poor performance the script is so far fetched that it is not believable in many scenes. I had a hard watching this episode without cringing. The scene when the secret service agents burst into the room where the president is laying on the floor is so awful given the the first words out of the agents mouth are that Sam and Dean are under arrest for attempted assassination of the president of the United States. It would be impossible for the agents to have known whether the president was alive or dead. I could go on and on but you the idea.

Contrived to force yet another Winchester deal
CubsandCulture28 June 2021
I guess I could have handled the Winchesters being detained by black ops of the US gov't. It is not really a tone the show does as it is too spy, thriller for the more blue collar vibe the show has. But I hated, hated, hated the solution-with lazy sidelining of both Crowley and Cas-to get out of the jam. It is only included as a forced deal with grave consequences. It is a too worn story mechanic at this point.

a game of how much can we nerf Cass
shwetafabm26 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Can't find the girl pregnant with Lucifer's child for some reason Dean and Sam can't pray to him and he can't hear them for some reason but can for Billie Also what in the world is up with reapers. They are angels without wings? Thet can teleport? What is seriously up with the reapers. Needs back up for some reason when he can just walk right in and make them sleep. Sam and Dean and the deal thing is fine and all but really do we really need Mary Winchester? Cas just killed an innocent reaper, sure she was crass but she had done no harm to them, only wanted finality. I just hate this show's potrayal of the central characters and their nonsense sometimes. The whole bmol... I don't really care, so they have twisted sets of morals, tell that to Cass who just killed someone innocent. Also the fact that this would not have happened if the show didn't pretend the president would not have remembered anything. I am ok with some flexibility in the plot, it is a tv show, but when you can't follow your rules and break multiple... Now we have some cosmic whatever to worry about... Dear lord...

Extremely Dumb
cpancarician27 January 2021
This episode is impressively bad. The plot is contrived and nonsensical, basically every character was holding the idiot ball at some point, and there were multiple point that were super cringe. Sam and Dean leaving footprints in the mud to follow??? I literally made an account on IMBD because of how brain dead this episode was.

What happened to Supernatural?
mmeister-108-87077719 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Worst episode Ever, bringing in authorities no one needed, escaping from a high security facility without any guards, cheating death despite a pact sealed with blood and a pathetic angel. Not to mention that the brothers were willing to accept the sacrifice of their beloved mother, watching her to put a gun at her head. This is so far away of anything Supernatural was about.

"I've been to Hell. This was worse."
sleeping_tiger31 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Dean utters these exact words towards the end of the episode, after he and Sam escaped from the secret site they were being held. It surprises me every time how the writing for this show keeps getting worse as the show slowly descends into utter nonsensical trash. I am extremely glad this show is finally ending. It should have ended a long time ago honestly. That way the show would have remained as a fond memory.
