Plot Summary

  • The Mick centers on Mackenzie "Mickey" Murphy (Olson), a hard-living, foul-mouthed, cigarette-smoking woman who moves to affluent Greenwich, CT to raise the spoiled kids of her wealthy sister who has fled the country to avoid a federal indictment. She quickly learns what the rest of us already know - other people's children are awful.

  • Mickey, Who is intelligent but lacking ambition, is always hustling and looking for the next easy payday. It seems like her ship has finally come in when she goes to Greenwich Connecticut to visit her estranged sister and billionaire brother-in-law in search of a hand out, and they flee the country to avoid federal fraud charges, leaving her with everything. But nothing in life is free, and "everything" includes guardianship of her sisters three ill-mannered children-- 18-year-old Sabrina, 13-year-old future Republican Chip and fragile 7-year-old Ben. Though motherhood was never in her plans, Mickey discovers a little responsibility never hurt anybody.

  • A hard-living aunt is forced to take care of her wealthy sister's spoiled kids after the mom flees the country to avoid criminal charges.
