- Vishwas Dabholka (Ashok Saraf), in essence is a nice human being, but is trapped by the dry routine life. His love for music still flutters faintly within the depth of his soul. But it is smothered by his upbringing and self-imposed discipline. He wanders in a joyless life which is controlled by the hands of a clock and he even drags his hapless wife and son along with him in his disciplines. Then out of the blue there comes a day in his life when suddenly Vishwas finds himself face to face with a strange world. A world he has lost touch with, a world very real in its simplicity. A world of ordinary people, with their ordinary problems and extra-ordinary solutions. A world of their limited dreams with unlimited passion. Suddenly as if a veil is lifted, Vishwas rediscovers the vagabond in himself. He opens up and throws himself in the world heartedly and Wow. he is happy. He has stumbled on something important; he never even suspected what he missed. This day has taught him a lesson. If you want happiness you don't have to own things or achieve anything. All you have to do to look within yourself and find the ability to be happy. It is already there. It's yours by choice. All you have to do is look, recognize and never let it go. "Be a vagabond for a day and add five years to your life."
