After the Chinese fleet sunk a US destroyer, Chandler must blow up the third after rescuing the survivors and useful content. Its demoralized captain Joseph Meylan just wants to return home, Chandler to complete the mission regardless of losses. He jumps at the chance when the White House suddenly orders Chandler arrested for 'invading a foreign power' and more absurd charges within Michener's orders. Greene's wife is finding out the heard way, but can only tell the ever-suspicious renegade reporter Jacob Barnes, that the new president Oliver is a puppet of the remaining regional leaders after two others were killed for opposing a coup plan in full covert execution, with the press secretary as mole. While Chandler insists on a court martial he can't win, Slattery and others prepare skillfully to overpower the 'Washington loyal' crewmen. Written by KGF Vissers

Ah... when you have a captain being put under arrest for doing silly things that do not agree with the orders that come from the top... Well, you get an episode as "Scuttle", zero originality, but amazingly fun, entertaining and attention grabbing, the tension running high during its 40 minutes of running time.

Chandler has gone too far, just doing things without taking into account the people in USA (or whatever USA seems to be right now). Captain Meylan is told to put Chandler under arrest, take Slattery out of sight, and bring the ship back to the USA. Meylan is more than happy after what happened in their encounter with Peng's ships, so Chandler has to think fast to find a solution to the situation. He, for one, is not going to let Peng continue with the 'genocide'. And of course, the rest of the Nathan James is going to join him. Right?

"Scuttle" is the typical episode where the one in power is taken out of power but has to be back in power to stop the 'bad people' from doing 'bad things' so it has to think of a way to take the new one out of power without actually doing something they will regret (remember, everyone here is an USA soldier). If you have seen any of those submarine, ship movies where you have two strong personalities fighting to keep control of the vessel, you have already seen "Scuttle". However, the episode does a great job of keeping things going, with a couple of nice twists, and good acting.
