I'm a big fan of this ongoing (forever and ever) Girlfriends Films series, much deserving of its accolades over the past 14 years. This 123rd volume has the usual four stand-alone vignettes structure, and a couple of segments stand out.
I would consider the opening segment a true classic, simplicity itself on the surface, but so well performed that I would show it in Lesbian Porn acting classes (if someday Magdalene or India opens a Stella Adler styled school).
Resembling the structure of one of the "Mother Daughter Exchange Club" videos (but without the incestuous angle), the first half of the film deals with the foursome of Shy Love, Adriana Chechik, Riley Reid and Melissa Moore. Shy, whose mismatched, extremely fake looking breasts are a drawback to her current MILF career (following a better "sweet young thing" stint circa 12 years ago) is cast as a professor at University of Thornhill, and the foursome gathers at her home to shoot the breeze.
Current young things Riley Reid and Melissa pair off and head for a bedroom, as Shy is afraid of having innocent Melissa room with notorious lesbian Chechik.
The subsequent sex scene of Riley moving from innocent cuddle to XXX Sapphic steam on newcomer Moore is a classic, very slowly paced and beautiful in its buildup -not getting into any explicit hardcore content until the 29-minute mark of the show. Gimmick here is that superstar Riley and fresh Melissa are lookalikes: MM has big breasts compared to the flat- chested Reid, but they have the same facial features and even identical smiles. It's a wonderful scene and helped me get over my initial disappointment that the young actress had appropriated the stage name of one of my '90s soft-core favorites, Melissa Moore of "Sorority House Massacre II" fame. There's no mistaking the two actresses, the original MM was blonde and 6 feet tall.
The subsequent Chechik meets Shy sequence is a yawner, and Adriana doesn't even squirt, probably disappointing her most ardent fans.
Feature regains its footing with a golden oldie vignette, which appears to have been shot 9 or 10 years ago. In my research plowing through Girlfriends voluminous catalog, I don't know if this is a reissue segment or never issued before material shelved a decade back. Either way, it is prime drama as imperious Magdalene St. Michaels berates her sponging lover Nica Noelle, a lazybones who lies around in bed in her lingerie all day while Maggie slaves away to bring home the bacon (working on sweaty porn sets, no doubt).
The thrill of hearing Maggie dishing it out while Nica is a mousy sub who takes all the abuse, and then a thoroughgoing literal lesbian tongue-lashing on her body, is delightful. Billed here with her original pseudonym "Sydni Ellis" by Girlfriends, Nica has directed over 250 features since this acting footage was shot, relegating her latter-day acting assignments to usually non-sex supporting roles in her own productions. Both she and Maggie make mighty sexy redheads groping each other in this new video, each quite perceptibly young-looking.
Final segment is another lookalike experiment, as Danica Dillon very, very closely resembles superstar Casey Calvert (visually; their voices are radically different). Dillon teaches the young Evilyn Fierce a lesson in lovemaking and Fierce definitely does not live up to her name, giving a laid-back performance and proving quite inexpressive in the dialog department. Looking up her credits, she seems like just another porn casualty, a young girl (at age 25 here she still looks like jail-bait on screen, resembling most closely the great Brianna Love) who has only gotten low-grade gonzo assignments so far, one opposite Casey Calvert no less in a Naughty America junker.
