I can't get over how could this season has been...

Warning: Spoilers
Out of every season in Bates Motel, this has been the best one without a doubt. I mean, the writing this season has been phenomenal and each episode has kept me really engrossed.

I mean, Norma's death was absolutely astounding, and the way in which they set up that whole scene was unbelievable. From the song Mr. Sandman playing, to the camera work, to Romero busting down the doors and saving Norman and crying over Norma, it was brilliant. The best part about it was that I didn't even see it coming. I mean, Norma is an integral part of the show, and I have no idea where the show will go without her being a part of it. I guess Norma's death was required in order to send Norman really off of the deep end now. I guess he will finally become the Norman Bates everyone knows from Psycho now that Norma is out of his life. But who knows, maybe Norma is still alive and they have just fooled me. I guess we will see next week.

Also, the tension b/w Romero and Norman is great. I've had a strong feeling that something bad is going to happen to Romero all season long, and based on what we've seen this episode, it looks like there is no longer a place in Normans life for Romero. It will be great to see what happens with them next episode.

In addition to this, the relationship b/w Dylan and Norman has progressed in such a great way as well. The fact that Dylan knows Norman had something to do with Emma's mother's dissaperance has just been a Chekhov's gun waiting to go off all season long. I can't wait until Dylan confronts Norman about this and how the confrontation will play out.

All in all, this has to be one of the most underrated shows on television and probably one of the best shows that has been on the air in recent memory. If the actors, writers and directors don't win Emmy's for this season and get snubbed by mainstream shows like Game of Thrones I am going to be irate. I mean this is a show that deserves endless praise, yet it doesn't have the largest following for some reason. All in all, this season has exceeded my wildest expectations, and deserves much love. Good job Bates Motel, good job.

I can't remember any episode of any show being as great as this one! I really did not see the end of the episode! The camera and the song 'Mr. Sandman'...The acting - especially the pain of Alex! Normally shows get worse with each season, but not his one! Season 4 is great! I can truly recommend 'Bates Motel'.

This season was GREAT!

Warning: Spoilers
I am a year late, but all I have to say is that this episode has to be one of my favorites in the entire series....but my only issue with it was how Norma let Norman get out of the institution after only 2 weeks...but besides that, Norma and Norman's relationship in this episode gradually changed from earlier in the season....Norma again, is on Norman's side and thinks that he is now fine AND is being in denial....this episode also broke people up and separated them for almost an entire season...talking about season 5...and it was so interesting to see that....it was emotional when Norma chose to leave her love, Alex Romero, and made Dylan leave from her being so denial over Norman....Then, as they are in bed, Norman and Norma smile and laugh and i really thought that Norma was going to live to AT LEAST episode 10 of season 4...BUT I WAS WRONG! Whenever he went to the basement and Mr.Sandman started to play, I knew that she was done for. I had my hand over my mouth because I didn't want her to go so soon, or at all...and the music choice for this scene and the camera shots were absolutely perfect and very climatic for Norma Bates death that we knew would come one day. it was such a great, intense episode that new viewers that like the show will be very shocked about. :)

This episode couldn't have been better. I had no idea Norma would be gone so soon. "Mr Sandman" playing as Norman slowly made his way around the house, closing the vents, was chilling. I can't believe this show isn't more popular.

Tragic & emotional

Warning: Spoilers
I knew since season 1 that this would happen. I knew, because of the film, that we would get attached to Norma & that every single happy moment would be bittersweet given that we knew all along that she would die. We just didn't know how or when.

This season was so strategically written, giving her this happy normal life with a husband who literally did everything for her. But it was always gonna be Norman there, who acted on the thought of "if I can't have her no one will." Norma died heart broken because she felt the need to let Romero go the same day her other son put his foot down & said enough. So she poetically died in the arms of the only one left.

It was creepy, tragic, emotional, & honestly unexpected, as i came into this thinking the show would end with her death, but boy was i wrong. I was so heart broken for her, how broken she was, how broken all her relationships were, & how she died knowing everyone was right about her son. I'm just glad she went peacefully. But I am so excited to see what happens moving forward.

As a side note, It's so easy to only fucus on Norma's side, but this all happened after Norman discovered what Mother did to Emma's mom. Norman knew what Norma was giving up for him, & didn't want her to know that everyone was right about him. So not only did he once again attempt suicide, he also felt it was necessary to kill Norma because as he said, they're both broken. So Norman thought it best if they just ended then and there to prevent anymore tragedy for both of them. But not only that, but but all he wanted for them to be together. Spoilers for the series finale, but he kind of got that in the end. Him & Norma's bodies were both carried out of the house & they were hurried side by side, together forever.
