This is actually for a Christmas 1959 ep of "The Lawrence Welk Show"
Yesterday, I had reviewed the Christmas 1958 ep of "The Lawrence Show" so now I'm commenting on the following year's. Like the previous year, The Lennon Sisters perform "O Holy Night". However, while Janet Lennon had performed "Baby's First Christmas" with Alladin that year, this time it's Janice Bailey doing that with him. There's a couple of holiday spots for the show's sponsor, Dodge, one of which has the cast performing "Jingle Bells", a song also performed by the children of the show's musical family. Welk had introed many of his band's family members on camera the previous year, this time most of the band intros their members with only some of the kids introducing themselves. The show ends with The Lennon Sisters and many of the male singing members warbling many of the religious spirituals of the holiday season. This was a pretty entertaining Christmas show for Welk. His next holiday ep I'll review will be from 1966 but first, I'll review many of the other popular singers' Christmas shows of that time in between...
