Thomas Loone's character "Dom" takes his name from the delivery tracking software of a well known pizza delivery company. In the script and for all of production, he was named as 'Adam' however Chris Hallas was never happy with this and changed it to Dom during post-production after he and editor, Matthew Tingle, ordered a pizza.
Marks the second time Natalie Russell has worked with writer/director Chris Hallas, the other being Jess Kemp: Stars (2015).
Director Chris Hallas was so keen to capture a natural chemistry for the date scene that he insisted shooting it multi-cam, believing that filming both actors at once was paramount to capturing any nuances or subtle reactions you'd see on a first date. This proved a particular challenge for Director of Photography, Simon Sturgeon, as lighting both actors for two different cameras at once is considerably more difficult than a traditional single camera setup.
One of the songs playing in the cafe is Jess Kemp: Stars (2015), for which the music video was written and directed by Chris Hallas, and shared many of the cast and crew including actress Natalie Russell, Director of Photography Simon Sturgeon, 1st AD Gage Oxley, and Camera Operator Andrew Beniston.
