Um... I watch a lot of movies, and I give most a chance, but I couldn't sit through this one lol. The acting was horrible and the script was just as bad. Only reason I gave it a 2, was because I shut it off.....

Nothing about this movie was original except perhaps trying to pass a 30yr old woman off as a college student. And why was she dressed like a deer? It's as if the director thought putting her in tons of makeup would hide her age. They randomly introduced characters and the "cops" were an absolute joke. It really was a waste of an hour of my life.

Warning: Spoilers
The Asylum takes a stab at the social media horror movie and fails horribly.
A killer is bumping off victims in order of the amount of followers they have on social media. OK, sure this is an alright concept. It's made by The Asylum so there is some decent production value: it's shot nicely.
That is the end of positives for Follow Friday. Now let's get into how it sucks:
The kills. A slasher can have a lame story and be redeemed if it has great kills. The deaths in Follow Friday have to be some of the worst-filmed murders I've ever seen.
Some examples: a girl jogs, she hurts her ankle. She walks to a cliff. The girl appears and shoved her off!
Another kill: Police check a home for the killer. One kid sees a cop inside. The cop shoots him because it's the killer! Outside no one hears the gunshot and the police leave. Immediately after walking off the frame the girl takes a hit of her vape and coughs - she got stabbed in the back!
In a movie about a giant cgi mutant the deaths can be suspenseless and lame because it's a giant cgi mutant doing it. That's fun. What isn't fun is seeing a character basically fall down and the poof they're dead.
If you can't do a gory/inventive kill then we need some suspense. Follow Friday gives us neither.
Is the plot good? No! Do we get to see any b-list actors from yesteryear show up in a cameo like most Asylum flicks? No! Just a bunch of unknown kids.
Normally I don't go into a films ending but follow Friday again has one of the worst killers ever. It's literally a random dude that nobody knows. They say that exact line after he dies from being shot once.
This movie should be unfollowed.

Pleaseee! If that man ( I have no idea who he is ) called Micho Rutare was wishing to spend some money on something why didn't he send it to the starving children in Africa... instead of making this ...''MOVIE''??? It's so ridiculous that I can't even give it one star but as there are not ZERO star to be chosen,I gave up and marked a star... but, believeme, it is too much for this nonsense. (And a last question: why does the main character have a sort of Hindu brother, when she is clearly white? I couldn´t get anything. No plot,no situations,no continuity, not anything to remark) A complete WASTE OF TIME. AVOID IT!!! Pleaseeee!

Warning: Spoilers
This movie had neither the budget for actors or writing apperently, Black Mirror handles the themes significantly better. The main character acts like a cardboard box for half of her scenes. Her brother reads his lines like hes in 7th grade theater class. The killer looks like the guy who gave himself that lame mashup of puff daddy and oprah(which is a dated reference even for 2016. I understand if you dont have the budget for even b-c list actors but atleast put that money into the writing budget! Or even the props department. I so wish this movie could be rated 0.
Are these supposed to be High School students?

It looks like those kids have been held back in school a few years or for a decade!
The script was terrible! Did the writer even went to school himself, or at least interacted with other humans to at least write a plausible conversation between characters? Every line was so stiff and robotic like that TikTok robot voice.... Mark Zuckerberg could've written better lines!
Don't get me started on those random echo voices talking over each other out of nowhere... I was so confused who was talking as I didn't even have a chance to learn who the main characters were to distinguish their voices!
The production and directing was also atrocious! It looked like a student film that was shot on an iPhone. Random closeups; strange camera angles; horrible lighting -- what was up with the interrogation room at the police station that had lights on the floor instead of the ceiling? Also, the wardrobe looked like they had a budget of $20 for the whole cast that they spent at a Goodwill.
Don't waste your time. You're not going to like the ending!
SPOILER ALERT: It's just a random guy with no motive.

The only good thing about this movie is when the main character using the word cockamamie.
It made me think of. Clint Eastwood in "In the Line of Fire" when he says "cockamamie. That's a word your generation hasn't embraced yet."
That was a good movie. John Malkovich was great.
I should have watched that movie instead.

I got about 20 minutes into this movie before the I had to shut it off. Like everyone says the acting was awful. AWFUL. So cringy I just couldn't get past it. And I'm the kind of person that usually keeps going to see how bad it can really get. I wanted to fast forward to the end just to know who the killer was, but I couldn't even talk myself into it. Feel free to spoil me. Or don't. Either way it's still an awful movie.
Pleasantly surprised

It has its moments.

Overall it's a trifle involving murders at a college which revolve around social media.
The film's best is its commentary on social media which resonates -- the addictive and obsessive quality social media can have for many people. The writers understand that well enough and weave the story around this theme well.
For example when our main character goes to speak to the dean and while apparently in a serious conversation about serious issues the student is experiencing the dean's desktop screen just keeps beeping with social media alerts which the dean can't seem to ignore for even a minute. It's tragicomedy, not played for a laugh but you'll smirk anyhow. If you use social media and your friends do also you will recognize the behavior.
As a murder mystery it's average at best and that almost gets lost in the social media distractions which isn't a terrible thing, one could argue that's the point of the film.
The acting is good, not great but good, production quality is very good, and the writing, dialogue, and directing are good enough for what it is: Entertainment, a thriller, with some on the mark observations about social media.

This was terrible. I've seen better acting from a preschool. I don't mind things being low budget when everyone is trying their best, but no one was trying at all. The story was all over the place. The characters terrible cliches. The voiceovers too much and jumbled. Let's not even talk about how her brother didn't look remotely like her or the mother. And her crush...well hopefully he grows into his face. The ending was a huge miss and made 0 sense. What exactly was the objective of this movie? Someone let me know!
