This game is an underrated classic that was built on passion, effort and is free to play on Steam.

This game follows Simon, a swedish guy whos trapped in a town filled with monsters. He has to get back to his mom's house and survive.

The game has foreboding atmosphere, everything appears normal, but slowly falls apart. The gameplay limits you, which makes it more intense. Whenever you run away, you can trip on steps, there's limited space to put thing so you always have to debate on whether you pick something up or lose something else.

The game is pretty glitchy and has some weird bugs, but that doesn't hinder the quality of the game, which was made by like, five people, who double up as voice actors in the game. Its kind of easy to forget since the quality of the game is really good.

Anyway, play this game on steam, you won't regret it.

Despite being developed on the GoldSrc engine, boasts a remarkable atmosphere without the best graphics. Story of the Cry Of Fear, while simple on the surface, carries a deep, thought-provoking message with a depressive undertone. The soundtrack is outstanding, perfectly complementing the game's mood. The characters are eerie and imaginative. Although the gameplay may not be innovative or unique, it doesn't feel out of place. Cry of Fear offered free so fans of the genre should definitely play. Overall, Cry of Fear perfect about creating a gripping experience, thanks to atmospheric elements, storytelling, and music.
