Mr Khan is desperate to gain a Pride of Birmingham award as a good citizen but instead finds himself in his car on a tow-truck after parking in a Mother and Baby space at the local supermarket. He sees this as his opportunity to be a man of the people, standing against petty bureaucracy, but gives up the chance by allowing Amjad to arrest him and thus become a proper policeman. There is further humiliation when, back home, the family sees Alia claiming to be a single mother on a TV chat-show.
