While you get the sense watching this movie that these actors could do better with a stronger script, you'd be too bored by the looped scenes, frustratingly noisy sound effects and weak attempts at art house giallo to notice. Even the beautiful array of full-frontal nudity cannot earn this movie any extra points as it annoys it's way to the bottom of your soul. Seemingly senseless by it's end, the plot makes no attempts to clue in the viewer on what exactly is going on and then suddenly (and I suppose intended to be artfully), it ends. Why put so much effort into creating a story that shares its core with no one, when a step or two, or ninety further would have garnered so much more meaning to it? I cannot say. I would recommend however, that you only watch this if you possess infinite amounts of patience and a distinct enjoyment for aimlessly wasted time.

GLASS is an independent feature from Canada that attempts to tell a small-scale psychological drama in the style of a '70s giallo. It was directed by one Vince D'Amato, and takes place entirely in an apartment inhabited by a young couple. The woman wanders around naked a bit and the relationship gradually breaks down, but it's all very slow and unappealing if I'm honest. The one positive thing about this is that the direction is a step up from what you usually associate with this kind of film, with lots of interesting camera angles and style, but it's not enough to sustain a film containing very little substance.

The plot outline for this film made it sound like an intriguing psychological thriller with a bit of murder-drama thrown in. So apparently that's what this is about.
You wouldn't know though: a plot is non-existent and the film largely consists of disjointed scenes with random jump-shots thrown in. Writer-director Vince D'Amato probably shot and edited it that way as he thinks that viewers will find it arty and tension-building. In fact it is confusing and pretentious.
There is nothing good about the movie. Performances are lethargic though it's probably not their actors' faults: Marlon Brando and Meryl Streep couldn't have done anything with so threadbare a script and random direction.
Avoid at all costs.
