Best Castle Episode, Hands Down
jeremy-kelem19 May 2016
This episode is hilarious! I absolutely loved the drama between Castle and Beckett! But what I loved the most were those a cappella groups! Why do the Treble Boyz not have their own spin off series by now? That beatboxer guy was sexy. Having Corbin Bleu was such a surprise! He was hilarious. The riff off scene is by far the coolest! All those a cappella kids are so talented. ABC needs to bring those kids back. They could do an a cappella episode of The Fosters, or maybe whatever else is on ABC. Or just make a show about those a cappella kids. I'm telling you, that would be awesome. They'd be all hilarious and it would be just like Pitch Perfect but on TV and even more ethnically diverse and cool.

We've taken a turn...

Warning: Spoilers
Why did we go from Rick and Kate simply being on hiatus and separated to fighting publicly, albeit fake? That was so uncharacteristic and unnecessary.

Why do the writers want us to believe that some of the most evil people on the planet are after Beckett...people that have found and killed numerous people...but they wouldn't be able to find out that she and Castle were seeing each other in private?

This whole "we're married but we're only going to see each other in private" thing is so ridiculous. I'm glad that Kate finally let Castle in on why she had to leave, but that doesn't redeem this monumental blunder of a story line.

This episode: I'm a huge fan of a cappella music. This episode made me run out of the room when the singing started. Omg it was bad. And when Javi joined in...while he had a great voice, that whole interaction was laughable.

Season 8 has been an entire year of shark jumping. And that is so sad. This was once such a great show.

Weak. Easily the most skippable episode of the entire series.

Warning: Spoilers
This started off potentially interesting, because Martha was right at the crime scene, and I thought perhaps she would be more involved in things, but the episode quickly devolved into an extremely annoying, very unappealing "Castle meets Glee meets Pitch Perfect" production. Which is fine if you're a tweener or a (closet tweener) who likes generic, nerve-grating singing, (which is unfortunately threaded throughout this episode) horrendous versions of decent songs, and jazz hands. I'm not and I don't.

The one redeeming factor in this episode is that the presence of "Amazing Alexis" is minimal. The story is surprisingly uninteresting and not very compelling, and aside from Sonja Eddy, who is always great, neither are the guest stars or their characters. The one just-okay scene where Esposito goes head to head with the annoying boy band is not worth sitting through the rest of the episode for.

Not even Ryan and Esposito can save this episode. Leave it on the slab for Lainie, it's DOA.

Worst Episode So Far

I don't really know what they were thinking with this episode. Luckily I was able to fast forward through the more annoying parts as I watched it on DVD. Hoping the season ends well, a bit disappointing so far.

This was so painful to watch and listen. There were moments I'd have to literally cover my face. What a cringe fest...
