Storyline

Clary and Jace get a tip from Meliorn that they can find Valentine by locating a portal in another dimension, but only Clary can venture into this new world. What Clary finds in this alternative universe is that life there is as if the threat of demons no longer existed and Shadowhunters were no longer needed. While she realizes that this dimension is the life she always dreamed of, Clary must act fast or she will lose herself in the alternative world forever. Meanwhile, Alec and Isabelle must face the consequences of the Downworlder attack. Written by Freeform

Trivia

There are a lot of references to the book series in this episode, like Luke owning a book shop and Magnus's cats Church and Chairman Meow in the alternate reality. All of these exist in the books (though Church lived at the institute and not with Magnus in the books) See more »

This was the best episode! I'm really into actors playing their alternative selves and this cast did great job doing that. I hope in next season there'll be two worlds meeting,so that double acting and weird jokes and awkward situations can be included. Parallels and differences were so cute, that I was smiling the whole episode. I know it's not quite the way books were, but so far I'm only enjoying everything the show has to give. I would have loved it more,if there was less real world and more other one,but can't complain,it was really good. I'm only concerned that the ending of this episode may delete some crucially interesting bits of the book. I just hope they can make it work anyway. The big I-bomb seems not in boom mode yet. Can't wait till next week,I'm so hooked on this show.
