The poster for the comedy night with text in the shape of a phallus was printed at a local library, with the reluctant help of the elderly staff.
The movie was storyboarded on the back of old letters from Ed's psychiatrist. The quote "a good idea" by Ed's psychiatrist was used on the original movie poster. It's a genuine quote from when Ed was told the concept of piecing together a film about his journey for public consumption to share what he found to be important in life was indeed a good idea.
The HILARY numberplate belongs to a lady down the road (called Hilary) who is so accustomed to Ed's bizarre behaviour that she didn't look twice when she walked past him as he was ramming a car full of VHS tapes.
The word fuck appears 48½ times in the movie- with Ed being responsible for 29½ of them.
The YouTube comments are legitimate and were written down in Ed's diary at the time, but were hard to locate to film on screen years later. So, in the movie they have been reposted from accounts with usernames that are all anagrams of Ed Surname, to signify that Ed would merge his personality with these negative opinions of himself. Others that were considered include Rude Names, Amend User, Named Ruse, Ms Nude Era, Read Menus, Nurse Dame, Ade Sumner, Sean Demur, And Resume and Nurse Mead.
