A short (well, very short) horror movie from the Netherlands. It's a nice little shocker : protagonist Jos Smit gives a fine, natural performance and the scare potential of an empty cinema house is exploited to the maximum. I'm adding some extra stars for the direction, which slowly, gradually builds up suspense and tension to the point where the viewer jumps out of his/her chair when the postman rings at the door. (I can say this honestly, as the postman did indeed interrupt my viewing. The "ddrring !" sound of the doorbell almost made me fly to the ceiling.)
There's another reason to be generous with the rating stars. I gather that this movie was made by novices, on a shoestring budget. Pretty good news : if these young people can make a short this good for the price of a wedding reception, what won't they be able to deliver after they've grown in years, experience and (hopefully) prosperity ? There's quite a lot of promise here.
