So weird...and better than the full-length version

I just watched the full-length version of this short, 2019's "Greener Grass". I was actually not that impressed with this full-length film, as it seemed to go on way too long....and when I noticed a shorter, earlier version on the same DVD, I decided to try "Greener Grass" (2015). Both films star and were written by Jocelyn DeBoer and Dawn Luebbe and look very similar...though the rest of the cast is different.

Both films are nearly identical in parts. In fact, the big difference is length...with the full-length movie being too long it's actually rather tedious. As for this short, it's strange and difficult to stop watching....certainly something for someone who likes absurdism.

The film short that in 2019 was expanded into the movie of the same title.

Last night I watched the 2019 feature length movie "Greener Grass" at home on BluRay. On the disc are a few extras and one of them is this earlier short version, which the writers eventually expanded into the movie.

It contains the early scene where one mom gives her baby away to her friend that admires it, and the several other scenes are mostly the same as scenes in the movie. So anyone who has seen the 2019 movie, this short is redundant. However it could be a good view for those who wonder if they should take the time to see the full movie. If you like the short, you'll like the movie. And vice versa.

Better than the full length feature

Here we get treated to an adequate dose of absurdism without it becoming overly cloying. Delightfully demented.
