The numbers Brody Nelson points to are actually the Systolic and Diastolic numbers of a person's blood pressure, not oxygen and pulse. The actual oxygen reading shown is 99%, not 101, which is the Systolic reading of the blood pressure shown. The actual pulse reading is fluctuating between 75 and 77, which is normal for a persons heart rate to do, as oppossed to staying one constant fixed number. Nelson was reading the Diastolic number of the blood pressure shown as the pulse. The number shown flctuating between 19 and 21 is how many breaths per minute a person would be taking. The 98.6 shown would be the temperature reading of a person.
Also the Systolic reading (x) number of a blood pressure, is always higher than the Diastolic (y) or bottom number of a blood pressure (x/y). This is because the Systolic number is accounting for when oxygenated blood is pumped from the heart into the blood vessels, causing the blood vessels to expand. The Diastolic number is when blood is returning to the heart to be reoxygenated, causing the blood vessels to contract.
