The title describes these 13 minutes pretty well as here we have the halftime show for the 49th Super Bowl edition I think and like most other times one big name is in the center of it all. That time it was Katy Perry and how much you like her will also define how much you like this "short film". I personally find her stunning with an okay voice and great recognition value, which made me overlook some of the weaknesses. Maybe she does not have the very greatest range, but honestly neither do Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and some of the other defining female singers right now and at least Katy's songs are really always catchy. Here we have a little medley of her most known songs over the years and that was good. I am not too big on Lenny Kravitz and his IKAG cover felt really off. Missy Elliott didn't do too much for me either. I guess these 2 were included to avoid a diversity controversy. Completely aside from the singers, the show was very spectacular too. I personally don't watch American Football, but this halftime show does not require you too. Maybe that's also a message to the female voters here on IMDb who don't understand that or who maybe really hate Katy Perry for reasons of jealousy for her amazing charisma and curves? Don't worry chicks, we men can also appreciate Leo and Brad, even if we don't have their charisma. There is no need for a false sense of competition here. Overall, this slightly under a quarter of an hour gets a thumbs-up from me. Like Miss Perry and her music? Join the millions, if not billions who have seen it already and I'm sure for the thousands in the stadium it really was a once-in-a-lifetime experience with the fireworks at the very end that perfectly fit the Perry song Firework of course.
