While I wasn't a fan of the pilot for this show, I really did (and do) love the cast. We're in Season 2 now and there are important markers that are part of theoretical discussions in every college environment as well as a few political innuendos that brush (TOO?) close to the reality we face with the current "cowboy" administration. (No Spoilers. Watch the show, take a Poli Sci class or watch the news....)

Nice writing

The writers really nailed the Craig Sterling character. Someone apparently has experience with ambitious empty suits in a corporate setting. Sterling's way of manipulating conversations with the president to block McCord is written just the way it's done in reality. Vapid, pithy comments that can't be argued with but add nothing to the solution are the preferred tool of the, well, tool. They throw them into the discourse just when some real contribution is about to be made, in order to distract and hold focus on themselves. Very well-written dialogue.
