Sidney's at it again, I don't mean Vicaring.
Sleepin_Dragon23 October 2019
It was a clever plot, a man confesses to a murder which hasn't happened, later that day the man is murdered. Is the prime suspect the man that confessed?

This is my least favourite episode to date, the plot was excellent, the problem I had was the events surrounding Sidney. In fairness, he's the most handsome Vicar of all time, but his promiscuity is being explored almost weekly, any site I'd a beautiful woman, you know he'll be involved.

Liz White was very good, as were the whole cast. At least Amanda got to experience a taste of her own medicine.

A bit hit and miss. 6/10

The Reverend always rings twice
Prismark1022 June 2016
After dealing with spies at Cambridge University the previous week it is a more intimate episode this week dealing with a femme fatale suffering violent abuse from her husband.

The episode kicks off with a young man confessing to killing his landlord with a knife. Geordie and Sidney find the man is alive and well but he is also a bit rough with his wife.

The landlord is later killed by a hit and run driver. The young man now a suspect has an alibi,. Sydney thinks that the landlord's wife has been manipulating the residents in the house to kill on her behalf and decided to charm a confession out of her.

Meanwhile, Sydney's ex, Amanda has been arrested for shoplifting and has a chat with Geordie. She soon finds out that Sydney has a new girlfriend.

This episode is a lot more small scale and Liz White is a good guest star as the vulnerable but also an unscrupulous suspect but the mystery felt too slight and too much emphasis on the tangled love live of Sydney and even the curate Leonard who is seeing the mucky photographer from the first episode.
