After deciding to burn his wings Lucifer Morningstar, has decided that this amounts to a virtual rebirth, so now he wants to celebrate this as his Birthday.

Detectives Decker and Espinoza come to Lux baring a Birthday present for the birthday boy, but its a somewhat peculiar gift in the shape of a jar, containing a greenish liquid. They all three drink from it and then, the detectives make a spurious work related excuse to leave Lux immediately.

Detective Decker has something of a 'Voodoo Curse' hanging over rather like the Sword of Damocles, namely the Palmetto Case, this hinged around a detective Malcolm Graham.

Detective Decker's handling of the Case has resulted in his family, and most of her colleagues considering her as a pariah.

Graham was shot and dangerously ill in the hospitals intensive care unit, the medical staff considered his as a terminal case, until he had a literally miraculous escape from death.

Emotions can be tricky Lucifer!

Warning: Spoilers
This is the first episode where we see Lucifer grappling with his new found emotions. His increasing jealously towards Dan and his growing affection for Chloe make for very interesting viewing. The scene where he "accidentally" saves a man trying to commit suicide is very funny! As is the fact that Linda and Chloe end up bonding and ganging up to irritate Lucifer.

I found the revelation of who shot Malcolm quite shocking. Almost as shocking as the scene between Lucifer and Maze when he confronts her over her betrayal. All in all another great episode.

[6.5] On a professional level!

Episode 8: Uninteresting, repetitive with quite bad visual effects. The episode speeds up towards the end with some revelations, but that's not enough to save it from the messy melodrama and repetitive stuff.
