Plot Summary

To show what the USA can learn from rest of the world, director Michael Moore playfully visits various nations in Europe and Africa as a one-man "invader" to take their ideas and practices for America. Whether it is Italy with its generous vacation time allotments, France with its gourmet school lunches, Germany with its industrial policy, Norway and its prison system, Tunisia and its strongly progressive women's policy, or Iceland and its strong female presence in government and business among others, Michael Moore discovers there is much that American should emulate. Trivia During the Norway segment, it is stated that mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik, who was responsible for several terrorist attacks in 2011 that killed 77 Norwegians, was sentenced to a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 21 years in prison. It is also mentioned that 21 years imprisonment is the maximum penalty in Norway, regardless of how many casualties there were. Although this is true, it should be added that Breivik was specifically sentenced to containment. Containment or preventive detention means that although the initial sentence is 21 years, the imprisonment can be extended indefinitely, as long as the convict is considered a danger to society, so in practice this probably means life imprisonment. Goofs When listing what the French get extra for their tax money besides basic services, on screen text states 4 weeks paid vacation. The French have a minimum of 5 weeks paid vacation and 11 legal holidays a year. See more »

Crazy Credits At the end of the credits, we see a woman scaling a flagpole and cutting down a Confederate Battle Flag, while we hear a pair of men (presumably some sort of law-enforcement officers) requesting that she stop. Accompanying that scene are the words of Moore's battle cry: "Hammer. Chisel. Down." See more »
Quotes Michael Moore: I am an American. I live in a great country, that was born in genocide and built on the backs of slaves.
