Launched in 1992 as a companion for "Beverly Hills, 90210," "Melrose Place" quickly became a giant television hit in its own right. Originally designed to be an authentic, grounded look at 20-something life in Los Angeles, the program soon became "90210"'s soapier, yet equally popular counterpart. Towards the end of the story, Aaron Spelling and Darren Star are talking together, this is during the end of season 3 as they had been dropping ideas for the season finale which included Kimberly tying Sydney to an airplane and crashing it into the Melrose apartment complex. Aaron talks to Darren if he had ideas for Models Inc. which would be a spin-off of Melrose Place about the world of fashion because so much drama goes on in it. Models Inc. however, had already been spun-off into a series in the summer of 1994 and had concluded in the winter of 1995. At the time this event was taking place between Aaron and Darren in the story, Models Inc. had already been cancelled. See more »
BORING! Worse than the actual 1st season. Cheesy, unrealistic, badly cast mess! The actress playing Heather Locklear looked like a teenager playing dress-up. Unattractive cast. Acting was wooden at best. This was a waste of time. Everybody knows the Melrose Place cast got along great, and there were no behind the scenes drama. So, why even make this? It was like, NOTHING! No purpose. MP is my fave prime time soap ever. This TV movie was like a Disney Channel movie. There was never a need to make this. I would suggest you avoid this mess. Melrose Place is iconic. This TV movie is painfully boring. Watching paint dry would be more exciting.
