Victor is armed with dangerous knowledge, having read in the stolen files different accounts saying the same thing, Dieter was indeed guilty of war crimes, pushed to the limit he's placed in a psychiatric ward, but when he learns Dieter is soon to marry the maid at the hotel he plans his escape. Callum's ever deepening relationship with Rachel turns more serious, the pair plan one last weekend together, but when a distressed Victor phone Callum he leaves to find him seriously injured. Callum's world takes a shattering blow when he learns he's been used by someone very close, someone with a powerful motive.
I have to admit that after the previous episode's lull my expectations for this one had fallen somewhat, how wrong I was, I must admit I was captivated from beginning to end, not only was I drawn in by the usual attributes of Poliakoff's writing, and the sublime visuals, but the story sprang to life once again, motives surfacing, and characters revealing their true colours. We got to learn a lot more about Harold and Dieter, the question still remains, who is close to the enemy, and which enemy, is all known, or are there still twists to come?
The scene where Harold Lindsay Jones reveals his grief motives to Callum had me utterly gripped, I believed every word he said. Unbelievable acting once again, every single performance was superb, plaudits this time for young Lucy Ward who played Lotte, what a talented young lady.
A series I don't want to end, this penultimate episode has been the best yet, this was captivating. 10/10
