Known for his powerhouse performances, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, is all set to turn a new leaf as the makers of Munna Michael introduce him in a never-seen-before avatar. Redefining cool and bringing on the swagger, Nawaz, equipped with a new hairdo, pierced ears, sunglasses and a leather jacket recently shot for a highlight song, which opens the film.

Talking about what drew him to Munna Michael says Nawazuddin, “I’m tired of the intensity. Bus ho gaya maar-dhaad aur khoon. There’s a lot of romance, apart from the dancing, in this film. Sabbir makes commercial films but he’s focused on detailing, doesn’t overdo things on the set and wants the film to look realistic. I like it when directors don’t play to the galleries”.

The actor will shoot for Munna Michael for 65 days over 2 schedules. He essays a quirky character in the film, one with many shades »

No studio tie-ups to be done for Baaghi & Judwaa sequels

This is fairly unusual since most independent producers in Bollywood have so far tied up with corporate houses to get their films into theatres. Box Office – Sajid Nadiadwala and Eros’ Dishoom all set to earn profits for all involved

1 August 2016 6:45 AM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

After Sultan, finally there is a film which has done well at the Box Office. There have been quite a few flops in the interim period but the good opening of Dishoom has brought smiles back on the face of exhibitors. Despite the fact that incessant rains impacted collections to a good extent, the film still managed to keep its double digit score intact on Friday [11.05 crore] and Saturday [12.02 crore]. With the word of mouth going right for the film, the collections saw a good push on Sunday [14.25 crore], as a result of which the weekend collections stand at 37.32 crore.

The film is a plus affair for all involved and good profits are on the cards for Sajid Nadiadwala and Eros, the giants who came together for Rohit Dhawan and gave him this fun-on-the-run flick to direct. Since the film is pretty much running solo in theaters now and there is no competition »

Tiger Shroff roots for ‘tigers’, plays a ‘real life hero’ beyond A Flying Jatt ‘superhero’

31 July 2016 1:00 AM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

He is playing a loveable Sikh superhero in his next release A Flying Jatt. While all eyes are on whether Tiger Shroff would set a hat-trick of hits after Heropanti and Baaghi, the young and shining star recently showed that he is a hero for animals and human beings alike. Yesterday (29th July), on the event of International Tiger Day, he sent a letter to Environment Minister Anil Dave. There, he urged the Minister along with PETA India, to ensure that Government focuses on protecting tigers in their natural homes.

Tiger Shroff truly feels that tigers need to be in their natural homes where they have ample space to roam, spend time with their families, and engage in other natural behaviors. Above all, they are the most protected there,” informs our source.

While Tiger is trying to protect folks in Balaji Motion Pictures’ A Flying Jatt through his funny antics, »

John Abraham and Varun Dhawan’s ‘Dishoom’ to add on to ‘clean entertainer’ successes in 2016

22 July 2016 12:00 AM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

Sultan, The Jungle Book, Airlift, Housefull 3, Baaghi, Neerja and Kapoor & Sons – one look at the list of films that have turned out to be successful in 2016 and it is crystal clear that the ones which went on to win support from audiences were those that were clean entertainers. Other than the fact that none of these films has been an ‘A’ certificate affair, there is also nothing in there which is cringe-worthy.

Now that Dishoom is set for release, the sentiment across the industry is unanimous that yet again, it is clean entertainment, courtesy producers Sajid Nadiadwala and Sunil Lulla, along with director Rohit Dhawan’s family audience appeal, which would make Dishoom a good choice for the cine-goers.

“Whether it is universal successes like Sultan, The Jungle Book, Housefull 3 and Baaghi or niche biggies like Airlift, Neerja and Kapoor & Sons, what ties them all is the fact »

Of late, there have been several Bollywood celebrities who have faced their identity being misused on social media by fake accounts. Recently it was producer-director Sajid Nadiadwala who became a victim to this sort of a crime after an impostor contacted his industry friends on social media. Busy with work commitments, Sajid Nadiadwala was taken aback when his industry friends revealed about chatting with him on Facebook. Further, Sajid also found out that the impostor has been not just talking but has also been inviting people for auditions and look tests. Soon after the incident, the producer clarified to his colleagues that he isn't on any social media including Facebook, Twitter or Instagram so that they do not fall prey to any more of such fake incidents and ensure their safety. Teaser Time: Tiger Shroff And Nathan Jones Square Off In A Flying Jatt

8 July 2016 7:00 AM, PDT | Screen Anarchy | See recent Screen Anarchy news »

Fresh off of the high profile legal battle over striking similarities with The Raid: Redemption that nearly stalled his last film, Baaghi, up and coming action star Tiger Shroff is back with a new project and it looks pretty ridiculous. A Flying Jatt is India's latest attempt at creating its own superhero franchise with Shroff in the titular role, a hero from the traditional farming community of Punjab who is God's divine protector. The film, directed by Abcd's Remo D'Souza, also stars international action film heavy Nathan Jones (Muay Thai Giant, The Protector, Mad Max: Fury Road) as a supervillain in a goofy costume. There's not much to see in this thirty second teaser, but Shroff is clearly making a niche for himself as India's...

Box Office – Housefull 3 caters to audience across the country

1 June 2016 10:20 PM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

The biggest film of 2016 so far, Housefull 3, is all set to take a good opening at the Box Office. So far, Bollywood has seen good hits in Airlift, Baaghi, Kapoor & Sons, Neerja and Ki & Ka. However, the only two films that did business at an all-India level were Akshay Kumar’s Airlift and Sajid Nadiadwala’s Baaghi. Now that the actor and the producer are coming together with Housefull 3 (which has Ki & Ka producer Eros joining them as well), expectations are of a film that would perform well across A, B and C centers.

In fact surprising as it may sound but right through 2016, there hasn’t been a single ‘big film’ release that caters to all segments of audience. That pretty much establishes how most of the filmmakers seem to have alienated a good chunk of the population of the country while focusing solely on 8-10 major cities. »
