Wow. Much like with Season 1, I was extremely apprehensive going into Rick and Morty's second season. It's tough for a show to live up to your expectations, especially after having them raised by such a strong first season.
Season 2 of Rick and Morty proved to be darker, funnier, and overall an improvement on Season 1. If it weren't for the show's only disappointing episode thus far (Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate), the second season of Rick and Morty had the potential to be perfect.
Despite Season 1 being more consistent overall, Season 2 featured some the greatest episodes we've ever seen on the show. I consider 'A Rickle in Time', 'Auto Erotic Assimilation', 'Total Rickall' and 'The Wedding Squanchers' to not only be some of my favourite episodes on any animated show ever, but also some of my favourite episodes on ANY show ever.
Much like Season 1, Rick and Morty still provides plenty of laughs and gags, yet the characters, much like the show, have matured, giving the show an overall darker feel. Looking back on Season 2, it's clear Harmon and Roiland were intent on developing Rick and furthering his character study. He has has come a long way from being the heartless drunk we perceived him to be during Season 1. If you thought the ending to Rick's Potion #9 was dark, 'Auto Erotic Assmilation' features one of the most heartbreaking sequences I've seen on TV in a long time. Season 2 showed us a whole new side of Rick, from 'A Rickle in Time' to the finale's heartbreaking cliffhanger, 'Rick and Morty' continues to amaze its fans by playing with their emotions in the most unexpected ways.
Powerful, emotional, and an overall brilliant season that cements Rick and Morty's position as one of the greatest shows on TV.
10/10.
Favourite Episode(s): A Rickle In Time, Auto Erotic Assimilation, Total Rickall + The Wedding Squanchers.

Having slept on this show for quite some time, I was surprised how good the first season was, and just after finishing that I went ahead of wolfed down season 2. Watching the two so close together, there were some bigger differences between the two seasons, but the common thread was the invention and hilarity of each episode was at the same high level. The use of other characters is extended, so that the family are not just caught up in Rick's world, but actively participate and seem at ease with the other worlds they are exposed to - this is a bit of a jump but the show carries it very well.
Another small change is that this season doesn't feel like it has a thru-line or a build. The season finale suggests otherwise, but mostly the season doesn't have a thread that stands in for the world building of the first season. This is understandable but it is an absence I felt in the season overall, even if no specific episode was lesser for it. The key thing is how funny so much of it is, and how smart a lot of the writing is. Adult Swim have signed on for another 70 episodes apparently, but I'll try to hold off a bit before watching the third season, lest I have the long waits of those who watched from the beginning.

If you watch the first season than you already know what the plot is, so I'm not going to go on full detail about it. This season may have the same plot of the first season (A scientist and his grandson having sci-fi adventures across the universe) but this season is so awesome that it's almost a crime to hate it.
Why is this season so much better than the first? Good question, everything is related to comedy, story and character development right balance. Let me go through every episode.
2x01 - "A Rickle in Time" is a masterpiece. The sci-fi concept of the episode is great, the jokes are awesome and a really good emotional scene makes you empathize with Rick. 10/10
2x02 - "Mortynight Run" is a good episode. It's full of action and very funny jokes. It's not one of the best in the season; I would say it's the second meh episode of the season for me. 8/10
2x03 - "Auto Erotic Assimilation" is another amazing episode. It's full of character development, really good jokes and one of the saddest scenes of the show. 10/10
2x04 - "Total Rickall" is the funniest episode of the show. It introduces another memorable episodic character and it's full of action and plot twists. 10/10
2x05 - "Get Schwifty" is the worst episode of the season. It's just a meme generator episode. That's it. 6/10
2X06 - "The Ricks must be crazy" is one of the satirical episodes that prove how assholy Rick can be. And the secondary plot is pretty entertaining. 9/10
2x07 - "Big trouble in little Sanchez" is another funny episode that gives many focus to Summer in a very funny and unique way. Meanwhile it shows how sad Rick is inside. 9/10 2x08 - "Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate" is a funny conceptual episode; it has great jokes and generate good memes. 9/10
2x09 - "Look who's purging now" is the parody episode of the season. It's actually quite funny and gores. 10/10
2x10 - "The wedding squanchers" is the best season finale of the series so far. Full of emotions and twists, it seems like this episode was a game changer. 10/10
So, that's what I like about every episode. This season makes the show looks so more awesome that what actually would be with his next season. But for this season, things were great. This season gets 10 out of 10.
