Wonderful fake documentary

These 30 minutes here are a prime example on how to make fun of conspiracy theories. The core message in this movie is that famous German football player Franz Beckenbauer had a double for 15 years who played his part on all kinds of occasions when the real Beckenbauer was too busy to attend. Comedia Olli Dittrich has played Beckenbauer many times in the past already, for example during his breakthrough on "RTL Samstag Nacht" over 20 years ago. And in this mockumentary here he shows us again why he is among Germany's finest comedians right now.

I myself am a great fan of Dittrich. I love his long-running show "Dittsche" and his idea of humor resembles mine exactly. Even if he is in his late 50s now already, there are no signs that he will stop being funny or just disappear any time soon as many aging comedians have done in the past. Here he plays Schorsch Aigner and is pretty great. But what is maybe even better is the script here. Dittsche wrote it together with director Tom Theunissen and it's simply brilliant. Every joke is a winner, even the more subtle comedy, such as everything involving Aigner's wife. My favorite parts were maybe how they kept showing recordings of Beckenbauer and showed Aigner's name at the bottom, how he played football one time instead of Beckenbauer and caused several own goals or just in general how this documentary apparently takes itself so seriously while it's all just comedy. Interviewing other football players and reporters who support Aigner's story was also a brilliant idea. Also the beginning ("at some point it is enough") and the ending (neubauer painting references) were spot-on. As is this entire half hour. Best piece of comedy I have seen in a while and I applaud everybody who worked on this project. Highly recommended and it would be amazing to see Dittrich as other celebrities' doubles in the future.
