During the hospital scene when Clarence is being treated, actor Ryan O'Quinn is shown standing in front of a commemorative plaque. The inscription reads "Deborah O'Quinn Oncology Department". Some scenes were filmed in O'Quinn's hometown of Grundy, Virginia. The scene was obviously chosen to honor the actor's relative. Perhaps his mother or aunt.
