Gemma meets with Anwar, he gets her to question her financial situation within her marriage. Simon's mum takes a turn for the worse, and Gemma meets with Neil to discuss her finances. Carly is once again deployed to Kate to find out more. Simon opens up to Ros, he explains he's in love with both Gemma and Kate, and financially things aren't great. Gemma sleeps with Neil, in order to blackmail him into getting Simon's accounts. Kate has a termination leaving Simon in bits, things get even worse for him when his mother takes her own life. Her death makes Gemma drop divorce proceedings.
Bertie Carvel finally deserves a mention, he has been excellent so far, and this has been the best episode for him so far, I especially enjoyed Simon's scenes with Ros, and the end with Gemma, he is an amazing actor.
It was clever of her to sleep with Neil in order to manipulate him into getting the accounts, there are more twists and turns in this drama then you'd expect, it has been brilliantly written.
