Longhorn LateNight started out as a late night talk show on the student-run station Texas Student Television at the University of Texas at Austin in spring of 2013, but then converted to a sketch comedy show in spring of 2014, and has since become much more successful and widely known at the University and in Austin, TX.
With the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus in 2020, the show shifted to an entirely pre-recorded sketch format indefinitely.
Texas Student Television, the home of Longhorn LateNight, is the only student-run FCC-regulated television station in the nation.
