- Connie Irving stares at a black dress. Irvine Irving is in his dress black uniform, staying in a hotel. Bagpipes play at the full honours funeral. Everyone salutes, rifles fire a salute, Connie receives the flag from Chief Tenzer. Even Eddie Arsenault is there. Irving approaches him and asks what happened that night. Arsenault says he's not allowed to talk. Harry collects a spent shell for his collection.
In a suit, Irving goes to the quiet RHD offices and swipes himself in. He photos the evidence and whiteboard information. He takes duplicate DVDs of the store video.
Jerry has the GPS data from the Bentley, they can pinpoint where the car was, it has three years of data.
Carl Nash greets Veronica on her way out of the front gate. Veronica misses him but Carl says they need to be patient. Veronica drives to a modest bungalow, stretches out on the bed and smiles to herself.
Irving goes to his house. His brother-in-law is there and asks him to leave, Connie is on meds and doesn't want to see him.
Harry, Maddie and Eleanor plan dinner. Harry takes Eleanor aside and says the Bentley GPS may show where a long missing FBI agent may be, he says give Griffin the info. Harry and Maddie go to Chinatown to eat without Eleanor. Irving calls and asks to meet later.
Irving's hotel room is set up like an office, he explains to Bosch his son was an undercover IA op investigating a corrupt vice squad as part of a special team. Irving is afraid the Chief and Mayor will bury this case as an embarrassment. Irving wants to work with Bosch on a parallel investigation, and says Harry can get Arsenault to talk.
Harry pretends to bump into the RHD detectives Conniff and Espinosa at a coffee shop. They confirm the "10th floor" [Chief Tenzer] is micro managing the Irving shooting.
Jerry is at the exact spot the Bentley stopped on Mulholland Drive.
Eleanor gives Griffin the book of GPS coordinates. On a specific night, she sees he went a few miles off the main highway. Eleanor claims she took the book form Harry's desk.
Irvine works out at a boxing club, will meet Harry in 30 minutes. They review the store video, Irving says the stolen watch had a tracker bug. Irving thinks Arsenault is genuinely upset over the murder. Harry proposes off-the-books action. The Deputy Chief calls and tells Arsenault to come back to his house. Harry is waiting and acts as chauffeur. Irving takes the SD card from the drone. Once in the house Bosch trips the vice cop and tie wraps his hands. Irving wants names. After some pressure Arsenault says Carl Nash is the leader, a cop named Nick Riley may have been the shooter. Harry then takes Irving aside and explains Nash's connection to his case. Arsenault gives some more background and names Riley, O'Grady and Piccinini, but is adamant he never killed anyone. Harry cuts Arsenault's plastic cuffs and they leave him. Harry says to concentrate on Nash.
In a Mexican bar Bosch meets Conniff. Harry says their cases are connected and gives him a lead, Carl Nash, an ex-cop gun runner. Conniff is upset Bosch played him earlier.
Edgar says he found Allen's suitcase, his missing clothes. Harry sends him to watch Hidden Highlands. Meanwhile Bosch and Irving break into Nash's bungalow. They search, Harry finds a large gun safe, Irving finds an envelope of photos in the air vent. Harry copies the photos which show Nash probably killed Allen.
Arsenault goes to Hidden Highlands to talk to Nash. They meet on a side street, Nash tosses his phone and watch. Eddie reports Irving and another cop roughed him up and mentioned Tony Allen. Carl agrees to give Arsenault his share of the big payoff the next day or so.
Irving and Bosch watch the drone video of the Iron Horse night, all the bad cops are visible.
Nash goes home to his bungalow, the safe has many weapons, handguns and M16s. In the bedroom, Nash finds a loose screw under the air vent, he opens it and finds the photos. He curses and realizes Veronica must have put them there.
Edie relaxes with a drink in his house. Two cops staking out are drowsy and inattentive. Mo O'Grady wakes Arsenault up, she's there to pay him, another man is there behind him. The stakeout cops hear a gunshot and rush to the house.
