Storyline

Six years after a sinister drugs trial in India goes horribly wrong, a young teacher is found dead. Two investigators - trainee Detective Constable Arrash 'Rash' Sayyad and junior Serious Fraud Office investigator Stefan Kowolski - are separately drawn in, investigating different strands of the same case under the watch of their respective bosses, DS Derek Sands and Eleanor Davies. As a war begins to rage between two major pharmaceutical companies and with two hit-women on their trail, Rash and Stefan's paths unexpectedly cross, forcing them to join together to uncover the truth.

Social Engineering Again
20 August 2016 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

Writers of cop shows are always looking for a new angle. This sitcom had potential but political imperatives got in the way. Made in the lead-up to the "Brexit" vote, the writers wanted to tell the viewers how nice all those Polish and Arabic immigrants really are. Scene: Muslim brother and sister have a beer together! "See, they are really just like everyone else" - well, no. There are foolish anomalies like that throughout the writing. Resolution of plot climaxes are so improbable that the show can only be tolerated as a comedy. Rash's police superiors are cardboard cut-outs. The quota of blacks and females is filled to the second decimal point. But, for all their efforts, the writers couldn't stop the British public voting to leave Europe. Maybe the real Brits know some real Poles and some real Arabs and can see through the social engineering being trust upon them by this series.
