Yet another over-hyped reality show hits our screens.
Cinemaniac198413 February 2015
The overseas version of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here has been a success in the U.S., U.K., Germany and South Africa to name a few, so it was inevitable that there would be an Australian version of this show. And in 2015, this became a reality. This is yet another show that originated overseas that has hit Australian TV screens (i.e. Australian Idol, Big Brother, The X Factor and Dancing with the Stars to name a few shows).

After Channel 10 bombarded viewers with countless ads for I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, I was already getting sick to death of the hype. Sure enough upon watching the show, I thought this is the most overrated and over-hyped show that I don't care for in the slightest.

All you need to know is that C-list celebrities or celebrities way past their prime try to regain the spotlight by putting their reputations on the line by lowering their standards and even demeaning themselves to be stuck in the middle of nowhere and participate in games and at the same time make complete and utter fools of themselves. The show sounds like another version of another overrated show Survivor. Does this sound like appealing viewing? For me, no it does not. It seems like the type of show that will rot your intelligence. If this type of show appeals to you go for it. Already the show has gained a fan base.

The show is terrible, but the constant ads for this show is enough to drive you up the wall. We don't need constant reminders on what is going to be on tonight's show with the assortment of drama queens and celebrities sacrificing what's left of the pride to make idiots of themselves on national television. It's not like their careers are going to be resurrected with this show.

The sooner this show is off the air, the better.

1/10.

Julia Morris makes this show unwatchable
MikeHunt107531 December 2020
Anything with that no-talent unfunny pig-vomit in it is completely unwatchable... and they put her in a wedding dress... there is not enough sick bags in the world to contain this.

I was a Celebrity, does any one remember me here?

Very staged and synthetic presentation that really brings reality TV to a brand new low. I have seen just enough to see an appalling disrespect for another culture and the show constantly mistreats wild life with careless abandonment for the sake of very misguided entertainment. Any celebrity that appears on this show is sending out a pretty clear message to everyone that there careers are flagging and some how hoping this show will pummel there status forward, it is a sad reflection on society that a device like this can in fact do just that, all be it token and short lived. Julia Morris is a saving grace as her over flamboyant presentation is almost artform in execution, something that viewers will be no doubt polarised by for sure. She a remarkable talent and well above this dog of a show.

It is really hard to believe that with the existing talent in Australia that such a commercial infrastructure is in place where programming like this, based on over seas content can get off the ground. Ultimately it means most of the revenue created by this program will go off shore to perpetuate more rubbish that we will again go on to reconstitute and do more damage to local production and original ideas.

It should be shut down and forgotten. Horrible.

Australian reality comedy at it's best, so funny with hilarious hosts
coasterdude4422 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This is Australian reality TV at it's best, with crazy challenges and incredibly funny hosts, this show had me in stiches every single time. The celebrities they bring on this show are unique and interesting, and is also funny in seeing their reactions in the challenges that get more and more crazy and intense with each new season. The show is also very well shot with cameras everywhere. I also like the quiet personal moments with the contestants in the camp where they share their personal stories and viewpoints. The two hosts are constantly funny with them trying and giving their all to be appealing to the contestants aswell as the audience. Overall a hilarious laughfest that I'll continue to watch as long as it stays on air just to see how crazy it gets, it's glorious

Conflict, toil, insect bites, oh, and Juliaaaa!
videorama-759-85939120 February 2017
This is the 2017 one, with mostly under the radar known celebrities, ones bordering on obscurity, or much bigger known ones like Mr Arnold, the first to get voted off (and he was my favourite) thanks public, who are dumped in the middle of the African jungle, to tough it out, in conditions, they're not quite used to, for that moolah. Okay, it's a terrible show, Big Brother In Africa for adults, lets call it, where there are such amazingly idiotic moments, including some of the exercises that are set. As hosts, Julia, has grown on me, the HH actress revelling in a role of her own, really adding spark to it, like hardly any of the contestants, where the most recent addition, was the gay guy, whose first and last name start with a C. And the only unsmiling, almost robotic walking Steve, from The Project is a great contrast to the others, whether actors, models, one stud, his body, a tattoo shrine, whatever. Our doc as the other host, needs a lot of worming. Yes, I've become addicted to this, "Yes". Stupid me. I wouldn't partake in this show, for all the money in the world. I hate snakes, venomous, and otherwise, and that goes for the rest of the little nasties in this. Yeah, congrats to the winner, but he or she should take out the biggest wa.ker award, for allowing themselves to go through all that suffering. Now, am I gonna watch the next episode? A big fat "YES". I've fallen victim to this drug of a show. Call it, African fever. God knows what's in store for me, next viewing. Hopefully someone will really rub up Steve the wrong way. Now, that's something, I'd pay to see.

All fine, but these participants are not real celebrities!!
xinix11120 February 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I am not going to tell everybody how horrible I think this show is, because that is for your own consideration. I just wanna point out to everybody who expects celebrities that there are none in this TV-series. I am a movies/series/TV fan, and I was disappointed by the lack of celebrities in this show. What were they thinking when they came up with the name for this TV-series! I have nothing positive to share about this show because who cares if these people can get out of there anyway? I know I don't!! There are a few participants that might be a known within some "target audience" , but I am surprised that their TV-network accepts this title! And actually I am also surprised that IMDb accepts it.

Absolutely Love this Show!

I'm A Celebrity is a brilliant show which combines fun, humour and challenges in an epic show with celebrities who must survive six weeks in camp, avoiding elimination to become the King or Queen of the jungle! It's hilarious fun and Chris and Julia tie it all together, with great segments and presentations.

Every episode, a group of celebrities are voted by the public the participate in a trial, to win stars and therefore food for their campmates. It's hilarious watching our well-known faces try to face their fears of heights, the dark, snakes and critters to win tucker for their camp.

This is a great, family-friendly show. It's not to be taken seriously (though some people like to) and it's enjoyable entertainment to help you relax and give you a brief respite from the danger and anger in the real world.

I'd recommend that you watch it, even if it's just an episode or two.

It bites
mikecoopey3 April 2023
Exact same format as the UK show, which I've loved tuning into since it started decades ago. Same music, graphics, structure and challenges, but woefully lacking the humour, thought, care and presentation. I don't really care if these people are well known or not, but please just make them interesting, down-to-earth and, above all, watchable. Every one of these celebrities is either vacant, loud, delusional, dopey, arrogant, spoilt or plain clueless. At least they needn't be scared of any self-respecting wildlife wandering into camp. A shame to not see them get dragged off by a ravenous primate in the middle of the night. To add further petrol to this flaming lion poo, the presenters are appalling. One with so little charm or presence he even reads his sneezes off the autocue, and the other can't seem to decide what limb to twitch or noise to garble at any given moment so is just constantly breakdancing and honking like she's covered in green ants. None of it makes for entertaining viewing. Get me out of here.

Where has bob been the past 20 years??!
delilah-185195 April 2024
They should do a segment dedicated to bob n his life growing up cos we love him and Australia has missed him. Then bob should sign his baby wildlife outfit that he was wearing when Steve Erwin dangled him infront of the crocodile "c'mon bob". And after he signs it auction it off and donate the proceeds to a Steve Erwin wildlife foundation for animals and people can donate as well. I'd donate $10 a month to the Steve Erwin wildlife foundation for animals. Please take this idea seriously because it would mean a lot to Australia to carry on Steve Erwin's legacy through bob and bindi. Thankyou.

Casey.
