Galavan and Penguin join forces with a dangerous family in Gotham. Then, as the rivalry between the Waynes and the Galavans resurfaces, Gordon struggles to maintain order in the city.
'Scarification' is overall a better episode than 'Strike Force', in my opinion - however, you can really tell this show would be a lot better right now with Jerome.
So Gordon, Bullock, Barnes and the Strike Force are continuing to hunt down the criminals of Gotham while Penguin tries to figure out a way to get above Galavan and get his mother back.
The episode opens with Gordon and Leslie having dinner with Nygma and Kringle. Personally, I think Kringle will discover that Nygman killed her ex-boyfriend and he will accidentally kill her and/or hold her captive at the end of the season, and that's what will cause him to become the Riddler. We'll have to wait and see what happens....
I'm not a big fan of Galavan - I just don't find him very interesting. This episode explained his motivation, and though I won't spoil it, it seems a bit far-fetched that something that happened 200 years ago is causing this guy to want revenge on the whole city.
The best part about this episode was the Penguin. He continues to be the best character of the show and is still wonderfully acted by Robin Lord Taylor.
Finally, there was no sign of Bruce, Alfred, and (best of all) Barbara this episode. Based off the 'next time' trailer, though, they'll be back in the next episode.
I would give 'Scarification' an 8/10. I'm looking forward to where the season goes from here - it seems like they're starting to build up to something big.
