If this was real, maybe I'd even watch Warning: Spoilers
"Dr. Quinn, Morphine Woman with Jane Seymour" is an American 3-minute live action short film from 2014, so 5 years old already and the title already gives away what you can expect here. It is a Funnyordie sketch and like many other times they carry the name of the protagonist (if they got a big name) in the title. Here it is Emmy and Golden-Globe winning actress Jane Seymour and this is a little spoof of what her trademark and career-defining show would look like if there was a sequel/reboot in the 21st century. I thought this was fun. The really good thing I think that makes it also interesting for fans of the original series is that they did not only get Quinn here, but also several other cast members, so that you can really call this a reunion. It is packed with Breaking Bad references, even a specific mention of the Walter White show, from beginnig to end. And when these addict group at her door, it also feels a bit like The Walking Dead. The scene when she gets the new victim addicted is pretty hilarious too. Okay I guess the romance parody at the end did not do too much for me, but maybe fans of the original Dr. Quinn show will like it. Overall, I was well-entertained here without a doubt. Seymour is 70 now, was 65 when she made this and I think at her prime, when she appeared in Bond, she was perhaps the most beautiful woman on the planet. She is still fairly attractive now. At 180 seconds honestly, I felt this was almost too short to do justice to the material and cast they got, which is a bit of a pity. But yeah, it is not unexpected, for a Funnyordie sketch it is rather long indeed. Director is Lauren Palmigiano, don't like the abbreviation, and she worked a.o. among a lot other Funnyordie stuff. Writer is Lindsey Kearns and she also acts in here briefly. This is her only credit in both fields according to imdb, which is a bit sad I think as I thought she did a really fine job with the writing here. So honestly, if this was really turned into a mix of old Dr. Quinn and new modern comedy à la Valerie Cherish in The Comeback with an ounce of Breaking Bad even, I'd absolutely keep watching. But of course, this is never gonna happen. I am still glad it was made as honestly this is the best thing I have seen in quite a while from the otherwise mostly disappointing Funnyordie. Fun watch. Go for it, even if you don't know or care about the old Dr. Quinn television series.
